Dimethylamine (DMA) is available as anhydrous colorless liquid (liquefied gas under pressure), 50.0% and 60.0% solution (colorless liquid). DMA has an ammonia-like odor. Dimethylamine (DMA) has been used as a dehairing agent in tanning; as an acid gas absorbent; in dyes; as a flotation agent; as a gasoline stabilizer; in pharmaceuticals; in rubber accelerators; in soaps and cleaning compounds and as an agricultural fungicide.
